Managing feature licenses (cluster administrators only)

Your sales or support representative can provide you with license keys that you use to enable certain features on your storage system.

License keys are provided on a per-cluster basis, based on the number of nodes in the cluster. License keys have to be added on each node in the cluster for features to work correctly. If you add new nodes to your cluster, your sales or support representative will provide you with licenses that are valid for the new total number of nodes in the cluster.

Depending on which platform you are using, some features require license keys. Features and products may not require license keys or can be enabled when you add certain other keys for a software bundle.

You can add, delete, and display information about feature licenses by using the system license commands.

Adding licenses

If your storage system software was installed at the factory, System Manager automatically adds the software to its list of licenses. If the software was not installed at the factory, you can add the software license from the Add License dialog box.

Deleting licenses

You can use the Licenses window to delete an expired software license. However, you cannot delete the disk sanitization license after it is installed on your system.
